Tania Morozova is an artist from Saint-Petersburg. Tania graduated from Imperial Academy of Arts and now she works with different media – graphics, photography and sculpture, mostly mixing all of them. She claims that artists use analog photography as a kind of painting with the light, capturing the fragility of forms and the impression of the moment.
How did the idea for the series come about?
The shoot was spontaneous, it was kind of like an étude. I just wanted to capture an impression of freedom and its coherence with the nature.
Can we photograph the female body differently in a more powerful way?
The female body is a very powerful visual instrument that can express absolutely everything. We can either show its sublime beauty or make the real provocation with it. This is inexhaustible for creativity.
What inspires you and how would you define beauty?
The main source of inspiration for me is nature with its huge variety of perfect forms and fractures. l like to find beauty in everything, mostly in something that doesn’t seem beautiful at first sight. For me, beauty is a dramatic binding between an external form and its inner sense.
Film or digital?
I think film photography is more bounded to creation because of its unexpected effects and its fragility. Its unpredictably makes it more valuable.
What makes you happy and what’s next for you?
I’m happy to express my ideas in different ways, make them visible. At the moment I’m thinking about a big project, also connected with analog photography.
