elena larsson

Elena first became interested in photography after moving to Paris and taking night classes in darkroom processing. Several years and many shoots later, she’s still addicted to photographing people, and feels like photography allows you to explore character, whether of strangers or friends, in a deeper way. This is Elena’s second feature on herbeautymag, check the first one here.

How did the shoot with Aurore go?

Every shoot of mine that goes on herbeautymag seems to be rushed … The day of shooting with Aurore, I was traveling from Paris to London that afternoon, so I went knowing I had maybe only an hour. But Aurore is so easy to work with and it was lovely seeing her again, even without having much time. I guess you can tell me how good the end result is.

What is your best advice to those thinking about starting doing photography in 2017?

Don’t worry about your camera. They’re all the same. And don’t look at Instagram.

Your ideal morning?

I love the first moments when the light hits – so every morning. I love mornings.

Big city life vs. nature & wilderness?

Difficult. I grew up in a really empty, gorgeous part of the countryside, and the feeling is amazing. But now outside a city I get a little stir crazy. I think I need the crowds and the rush.

What are your plans and what’s next for you?

I am working on a big series of nudes (if you want to model, contact me) which will be beautiful. And then releasing my first photo book in 2018. And some other stuff I can’t talk about, but that’s making me very happy.
