Davey Warren is a portrait and fashion photographer living in Toronto, Canada. Davey spent a very long time living in China where he worked for Vice Magazine documenting strange things with his camera and figuring out Mandarin. He returned to Canada some time ago and dove right back into shooting for magazines but shooting portraits and fashion instead.
How did the idea for the shoot come about?
It actually came about through a good amount of texting between Julia and Sarah. I had mentioned to Julia that I really wanted to shoot with Sarah and it turns out they started talking about it. I messaged Julia that I’d be in Toronto and she put the three of us together.
What do you hope to achieve through your photography?
Simply photographing what I want and being able to continue is all I can hope to achieve.
Your favourite spots in Toronto?
I have favourite spots for different reasons. If it’s for shooting I prefer places that aren’t trendy and might look a bit rough. If I’m going out with friends I like places like Chinatown or Parkdale. Areas that have character.
Your dream person to photograph?
It’s always been Jack Nicholson! If I had to chose a model it would be Anna Boyer.
What are you most excited about for the 2018?
I’m not sure. I’d like to get more done for my personal work and documentary work. I guess you could say I’m most excited to see some amazing concerts next year!
