Can you tell us something about yourself?
I have been working in the same studio for six years now and although I love it, I am working very much under other people’s creative direction. I decided I needed to pick up my own camera again and start shooting film, my true passion. I have no idea what direction my work is going in but with every successful shoot come more ideas and my passion for the camera is very quickly being restored! My inspiration was Ophélie Rondeau who I have worked with from her very first shoot up until now and I watched her grow from absolutely no knowledge of the camera to something exceptional! She is the one who told me to not be afraid to pick up my old Pentax K1000 again and give it a go. It is from Ophélie I met Chloe and loved her look.
How did the idea for the series come about?
I had been wanting to shoot Chloe for a long time and I pretty much just used my housemate’s bedroom as she had got some amazing new sofas. I bought balloons because who doesn’t love balloons? By the end of the day we were running around the house thinking of all sorts of different ideas that would look cool and changing into different outfits from my housemate’s and my wardrobe! It was pretty much a day of dress up and having fun. These shoots are the best shoots, you don’t really know what you’re doing but you’re having a great time doing it.
Can we photograph the female body differently in a more powerful way?
I feel the female body is way over discussed, which shows its power alone. How people portray it is their own creative decision, I personally don’t really think about it but I use it to create beautiful imagery.
What inspires you?
Regret! The idea of regret petrifies me so I want to live my life knowing I did everything I wanted to do!
How would you define beauty?
Beauty is an opinion. What may be beautiful to you may not be to me. Which is amazing because that means everyone and everything will be beautiful at some point to someone!
Film or digital?
What makes you happy?
All of my humans! I have too many amazing people in my life that make me happy every single day!
What’s next for you?
I don’t know what’s next for me … I never plan …
