Day at the Pool
Dennis Gross is a photographer based in Hamburg, Germany. What he loves most about doing what he does is that he can meet so many different people in this field of work. Dennis doesn’t usually work with professional models, he chooses his subjects based on their charisma as he likes to set up a base and establish confidence between him and the subject. Film photography and minimalism are some of his major inspirations as he prefers his images raw without too much editing.
How did the idea for the series come about?
We were traveling through California and made a stop in Palm Springs. We stayed in one of those beautiful bungalows under the palm trees. It was really interesting to see so many places there where you could really feel that special 70’s vibe. And that’s what I wanted to capture in the pictures.
What do you hope to achieve through your photography?
I want to create timeless and classy photos of people, buildings and landscapes that won’t be out of style in a few years.
Your ideal morning?
A good coffee and some nice messages on my phone.
What are you most excited about for the 2018?
Looking forward to marry the girl you see in this set.
