Francesca by Niccolò Natali

Niccolò Natali tried to study Biology, got a degree in Economics, but he’s probably still ‘missing the point‘. Like a lot of people, he changed several jobs, fell in and out of love, moved somewhere, came back. One thing has always stayed the same: the drive towards untamed beauty. Niccolò still pursues it, living and working in Milan.

How did the shoot with Francesca come about?

A fashion designer friend of mine asked me for some help with her school project. I had to shoot an editorial in the middle of the night in Milan and one of the models she chose was Francesca, her friend and a classmate. We’ve connected and decided to shoot something together ourselves.

What do you hope to achieve through your photography?

Nothing in particular. I mean, I started shooting with non-professional models long before the hype and as far as I can give back this ‘feeling-of-feeling-beautiful’ to my subjects I’m happy.

“My ideal morning is being immersed in a deep silence, probably in a wooden house close to a forest, up on a mountain somewhere, reading books and with a zero screen time policy.“

Your ideal morning?

My ideal morning is being immersed in a deep silence, probably in a wooden house close to a forest, up on a mountain somewhere, reading books and with a zero screen time policy.

Your dream person to photograph?

I don’t have one actually. I could name a list of models I like but that’s not the point. It’s most likely somebody I’ll be travelling with one day.

What are you most excited about for the 2019?

I’m not sure yet, but I have this clear feeling that something great is going to happen. But I’m just probably biased by this beginning-of-the-year induced optimism. Sticking on that though.
