Roeg Cohen was born in Toronto, Canada. He now lives and works in New York City.

How did the shoot with Hildie go and how do you approach these intimate shoots?

Hildie and I are friends, and we’ve shot together a few times. So we’re comfortable which each other. It might not look like it, but we’re just hanging out and talking.

What is your best advice to those thinking about starting doing photography in 2017?

Find what is in you that you want people to see. You are unique, and that is the best thing you have to offer. That is what will make you distinct.

Your ideal morning?

Coffee somewhere quiet before the sun rises.

Big city life vs. nature & wilderness?

I need both. But I think it’s more of a people or no people thing.

What are your plans and what’s next for you?

I don’t make a lot of concrete plans. I can better see the plan in hindsight.
