How did the idea for the series come about?

Jazmine has a great look, she’s a beautiful woman and I knew I wanted to get a simple indoor shoot with her to let her personality and strong presence be the focus.

How did your shoot with Jazmine go?

It went great! We were listening to old hip hop records and having a good time. It was super hot out and we were blasting the A/C. She was dancing around on the bed and in the kitchen doorway while I followed her with the camera. Afterwards we went over to a friend’s to shoot more. It was a good evening and the photos show it!

Can we photograph the female body differently in a more powerful way?

Yes. It really depends on both the model and the photographer. They have to want to portray the respect they want to capture.

What inspires you?

Classical drawings by John Singer Sargent.

How would you define beauty?

Film or digital?

What makes you happy?

Beauty. Be it in relationships, nature, art, actions, etc. It comes in many forms.

What’s next for you?

I want to keep growing with my photography to become better then I was the day before. I want to be a well rounded artist and want to be able to be creative as often as I can.
