Maria by Danny Lane
Danny Lane is a New York–born and raised actor and photographer currently living in LA. Danny lives with his girlfriend and his dog. He’s a cancer and drives a Subaru and listens to records. He’s tall and thin and loves movies a lot.
“We met on Instagram, she is from Berlin and was making a stop in Los Angeles. I’m pretty sure we both knew we’d shoot intimately without speaking much about it.“
How did you meet with Maria and how do you approach these intimate shoots?
We met on Instagram, she is from Berlin and was making a stop in Los Angeles. I’m pretty sure we both knew we’d shoot intimately without speaking much about it. We both have a history of shooting nude photos – so it was simple.
Was there any exact moment in your life when you fell in love with photography?
I played a photographer in a film years ago – digging into that was definitive for me. I also really loved shooting backstage at fashion week for Sephora. The hustle and bustle and energy of that made me feel like I was really “doing it.“
One could say you’re ‘a renaissance man’: directing movies, acting, painting, photographing & more. How do you keep yourself going creatively?
If I have a little extra money, I’ll buy a few canvases. But painting isn’t a priority, it’s just something I have fun with. I think all of the arts lend themselves to each other. Shooting photos is a constant – directing films is a goal. Acting professionally is another goal. Making music has been a lifetime hobby. I’d like to get to a point where one of them pays enough that I can enjoy them all simultaneously.
What’s next for you?
I actually am working on a feature film – just can’t find the budget money – and “band“ Cologne is working on our 4th album.
