Marion

Trash Her Ink’ is a typical boy with too many cameras and too much time on his hands. He’s working exclusively on analogue medium with a preference for 35mm and a craving for expired films found on flea markets.

How did the shoot with Marion go?

Marion is such a relaxed and down to earth creative. This collaboration was effortless. It was so easy to combine her style and outfits with what I had in mind that creating with her was a real pleasure and a breeze. This shoot was really taking me back to why I am taking photos: meeting like-minded people, creating and having a good time together.

What do you hope to achieve through your photography?

A couple of years ago, I thought that I could partially contribute to the photography world by shooting ‘moments‘ and sharing somehow different photos. But today, I clearly know that there is nothing I can achieve in photography since everybody is a ‘photographer‘ nowadays. I take photos to take my mind off from the daily routine so there is no real goal behind it, just photos.

Your ideal morning?

Managing to sleep till 10am would be ideal but it never happens. So in general, my perfect morning is just about sharing a coffee and a cigarette with my lady. If I have to load cameras for an afternoon shoot it would be a good plus to this perfect morning.

“Over the years, I realized that there is no ideal person to photograph. I am having as much fun creating with a famous model as creating with a girl who never posed before.“

Your dream person to photograph?

I have already worked with 95% of the models/girls I’ve always wanted to. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to meet and create with them through my travels to BOS, PHL and PDX. I guess over the years, I realized that there is no ideal person to photograph. I am having as much fun creating with a famous model as creating with a girl who never posed before. Maybe my dream person to photograph is just a person who shows up to the shoot and contribute to the creative process with her energy/ideas. So that we can create photos which are genuine and be both proud about.

What are you most excited about for the 2018?

So far 2018, the creative world seems to be spiraling down to ‘my follower count‘, ‘damn new algorithm, my photos don’t show in your feed‘, ‘help me I am shadow banned‘, etc … which is really not the vibe I am excited about even though I can relate since those points used to affect me and my moral too, however I am trying to care less about that and just do me. But apart from that, hopefully some exciting things will come like downsizing my camera collections, shooting more medium format, creative traveling with my lady, spending time with my brother here in Europe or in the US.
