Super8 film by Eli Apezteguia

Eli Apezteguia considers herself a lover of words and images almost equally. She writes and takes pictures in order to move beyond the invisibility under which she’s been hiding for too long. “I feel a lot like a mirror. What I see and represent, I do from a point of view which is quite autobiographical,“ she claims.

“We wanted to tell the story of one half of a whole. That a part of you ends up being heavier, and that you win yourself over and lose yourself, all the time.“

Eli filmed this piece for the launch of Elevated Essentials, the clothing brand which has created the upcoming fashion and art platform Dust&Soul. “The Kimono, one of the key pieces of the collection, took us back to Japan, to a mystic and to a victory. We envisioned a story between two women. About complicity and an honest harmony, born from a challenge, from grief. They look for and challenge one another. We wanted to tell the story of one half of a whole. That a part of you ends up being heavier, and that you win yourself over and lose yourself, all the time.“
