The Bottom Bell
Lawrence Fafard is a 24-years-old photographer born and living in Montréal. She’s always been passionate for images but her real first meeting with photography was only 3 years ago. Her work has since developed into an endless exploration of the women bodies, faces, expressions and ways of being.
How did your shoot with Jade go?
The shoot went smoothly. I knew Jade before hand and we had a lot to tell each other. When we finally started shooting, she was really open minded and wanted to try a lot of different things. It is always appreciated to feel that the model is completely devoted to help you do your work.
Can we photograph the female body differently in a more powerful way?
I definitely think it is possible and mostly important. We need to give back to women the entitlement of their bodies.
What inspires you?
I mostly get inspired by the instant and what surrounds me. The unique energy of every individual I am working with also affects a lot my inspirational flow.
How would you define beauty?
This is a tricky one. I don’t think beauty can be defined if it is not about being your truest self and feeling good about it.
Film or digital?
Both for different reasons.
What makes you happy?
Food, my dog and thrift shopping.
What’s next for you?
Currently working on my first solo exhibition!
